Lanterhome is paid for by subscriptions, not adverts. We do not sell your family's information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we collect only what the app needs to work.

Who we are

Information we collect

• Account details — the email address and name used to create your household account, and sign-in details from Google if you use Google sign-in.
• Family member profiles — the names or nicknames you add for the people in your home, including children.
• Content you create — chores, meal plans, shopping lists, reward and points balances, and any photos you attach.
• Technical data — basic device and log information needed to keep the service secure and working.
• Waitlist and contact details — the email address and message you send us through this website.

How we use it

We use your information to run your household account, sync data between the people in your home, provide support, take payment for your subscription, and improve the app. We do not use it for advertising profiling.

Children's information

Child profiles are created and controlled by the parent or guardian who owns the household account. We ask for as little as possible about children — typically only a name or nickname and their chores, points and rewards. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children outside a parent-created household, and a parent can remove a child's profile and its data at any time from within the app.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to host our database, handle authentication, send email and process payments. They may process your data only on our instructions, and never for their own purposes.

Keeping data and deleting it

We keep your household's data while your account is active. You can delete individual items in the app, or ask us to delete your entire account and its data by emailing hello@lanterhome.app. We will confirm once it is done.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will help.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to the members of your own household. No system is perfect, but we take protecting family data seriously.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email or in the app.
